A word to best describe the anime’s run would be: Heartbreaking. As far as humor, tact, drama, character development, charm and wit go, few can do it better than Ouran. However, the anime’s resolution was nothing short of a cop-out save for a few graceful moments.
It is sad to see an anime with such potential, with such great characters depicted throughout be given the treatment at the end. However, if one thing can be certain, Ouran’s appeal can be seen by anyone: otaku or newcomer, sub watcher or dub watcher, Shoujo enthusiast or Shoujo non-fan.

Eyeshield 21 presents itself as a ridiculous, exaggerated anime. But if you look closer, you will realize there is a surprising amount of depth underneath each character. An anime that is intended to promote football becomes something much more significant, a story revolving around lifelike characters.
Eyeshield 21 uses all of its elements to create a fascinating blend of two components: fast paced action contrasting against slow thoughtful moments. Each piece has a proper, powerful contrast. The outer personality blends with the inner heart. The powerful imagery and metaphors contrast with the human faces of the characters. The sound of vanishing ghosts and rushing trains work with the tense moments of silence.

Mai Hime is just one of those good animes that any casual fan can get into. It's likable, it doesn't leave the audience out of the loop, and it gives opportunity to write about the characters and their relationship in general. Where other series struggle to combine elements of different genres, Mai Hime perfectly blends two genres into one. If there's any complaint, it would be the ending. Considering the amount of development throughout the work, the ending feels like a cop-out. However, this anime is just fun, dramatic and good.
